No 16: Showhouse
Studio44 Design were engaged to advise on the selection of final finishes, design and style the interiors for a new showhouse for the final phase of four houses at Orwell Park Gardens.
From the front, the house appears to be two-storey however, because they are set on a sloping site, the internal accommodation is laid out across three floors. Our brief was to present the property to a high specification in a style and fashion that would attract the interest of home buyers with multiple needs, from down-sizers to returning ex-pats and buyers who value the attributes of an A rated home. To meet these contrasting expectations, furniture, soft furnishings, specific light fittings and art-works were chosen with careful consideration to create impact within each defined zone and unify the interior scheme with balance and style.
Lighting was re-configured from the original design to create layers of light and key centre pieces were chosen to create character and enhance visual interest. Set against a backdrop of a warm neutral colour palette designed to create a calm and welcoming feel to the property that captures the restfulness of this riverside location, offering as it does a tranquil oasis in which to make one’s home.
